The language of instruction in the program was German. The education period of the program was for five years. The Division of Mathematics Education has been restructured with the name of Mathematics Teaching Program under the same department starting from the 2016-2017 academic year. The period of study in the program is 4 years and the medium of instruction is Turkish. To be able to study in this program, students are required to be successful in the national university entrance exam. Students eligible to enter the program may attend an optional one-year foreign language education program in the English Preparatory School.

Elementary Mathematics Education undergraduate program aims at preparing mathematics teachers with national and international standards employed in middle grades (5-8. grades). Within the scope of Department of Elementary Education, this program, who has accepted students since 1998-1999 academic year who graduated in 2002. Six instructors and three research assistants work in the Division of Elementary Mathematics Education and there were approximately 250 undergraduate students registered in this program.
